EDUCATING LOVE TO OUR CHILDREN
When our babies are born they are greeted with a most receptive loving beginnings. Yet, many of our children are not so fortunate to receive the education of love. Many of us are very good parents and we steer our children with love, caring and and the teachings of compassion. However, there are households that are not teaching or educating love for others but, only love for themselves. These can very well be homes where children are abused, beaten, verbably criticized and often even murdered. This cycle of violent behavior is so likely to be passed down to that new generation of younger children.
Self-love is valuable, but do we EDUCATE our own children to love others as they love themselves? When I step back and observe the fightings, the killings, hatred, and the hurtful things that teens are doing to each other, I see somewhere there is a far lack in showing love to others. I see where there are gaps opened, or a latch of unattachment in the education of love of fellow human. If there were not so big gaps in episodes of love, personally I feel much of the violence would discontinue.
We have to start at an early age to teach our children to love one another. That even in loving themselves and family, we have to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. We have to love ourselves in order to show love to another. We do want to cause any harm to anyone, and that we should want to show love. Our children somewhere are becoming colder and hard-hearted when it comes to showing acts of kindness and love. They are quickly learning faster how to hate and showing acts of envy, fear and revenge.
Teenagers have a difficult time in their development and often can be cruel to each other if they are thought of as different. They have many pressures of just finding themselves and being identified in their association of others who seem to have far more popularity. Teenagers, too are more disrespectful in addition, that many parents are also abusive and harsh to their own family members. Teens feel the need and desire the sence of belonging which in brief which can possibly lead to joining gangs. Media, and entertainment venues are zoned the images of hating, killing and brutal violence. Images like those are all over the movie and television industry where murder is considered entertaining! Solving the mystery of finding the killer[s] are the themes of shows 2 to 1. Shows that teach how to love and displaying gentleness to others and to children would consider boring and drab.
Love can be most rewarding of all. I'm not offering a solution, but a resolution that we should love one another. Educate love, encourage forgiveness wherever you go! This we should teach to our children, and let's pray for all of us.
