Single Saint - Give THANKS! (824 hits)

I love Thanksgiving. It's the perfect opportunity to thank God for all of His Goodness and all He's brought us through and done for us. So many times we focus on what we don't have, or what we want - such as I want a husband, or I want my wife, or I want a new car, or I want a better job - that we rarely take time to reflect on what we do have and just be grateful. Sure, you may not be where you want to be in life right now, but thank God you're still alive and well, in your right mind, with clothes on your back, food on your table, and a roof over your head.

The Lord has taken care of you all your life, and He will continue to do so.

This Thanksgiving, in the midst of all the butterball turkeys, macaroni and cheese, and sweet potato pie, I would like to encourage you to take a moment to simply thank God.

Thank Him for waking you up in the morning and allowing you to see another day. Thank Him for His loving kindness. Thank Him for His grace. Thank Him for keeping you while you were in your last relationship in which the enemy may have tried to destroy you emotionally or maybe even physically but thank God you're still standing, you're still strong, and you're still here.

Despite what our current microwave, "gotta have it now," society says, the best things in life are free - and that includes God's love and our salvation.

Jesus already paid the price so we can bask in the presence of God each and every day.

So Thanksgiving morn, pick a nice spot to simply worship and thank God, without asking Him for anything, and afterward sit still for a few moments to hear what He has to say to your spirit. Prayer is two-way communication - you speaking to God, and God speaking to you, and if you spend time communicating with God about all you're thankful for, I'm sure He'll definitely have some good things to say.

May the blessing of God be upon you and your family this Thanksgiving Day and always!

Much love in Christ,
