An Easter Miracle (938 hits)

Many years ago our church was going through a spiritual revival and awakening. We had been studying the gifts of the Spirit and our Pastor was helping us to discover what gifts God had given us and helping us to safely practice and grow in those gifts within a tight knit group.

We learned a lot through that group and really grew in the knowledge of that intimate relationship with God, of going to Him first in any and all situations and asking Him for His help, His power, His will and His might, learning to go to Him first, instead of running out of options and going to Him last once we had tried everything in our own human effort.

There is no greater act of trust in any relationship than to lay ourselves bare before that person, vulnerable, powerless and transparent, trusting them with what is important to us. God tells us time and time again in His word, that if we ask, believing, then it shall be done unto us. But so many times we have some lingering doubt that God might not want to do what we are asking of Him, so then we start praying that He grants His will, no matter what our request might be. When what God really wants, is for us to be acting in His will, being obedient to all that He asks of us, and then being in His will, having the faith and trust to believe that He wants us to ask, and that He wants to grant us the desires of our heart.
God tells us in Matthew 18:18, that whatever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

Do we really understand what that means? When we take it back to the Greek, to bind, means to bind oneself as in petitioning, beseeching, praying and requesting. And to loose in the Greek, means for us to break, loose, melt, put off….but what? It is compared to 4486 in the Greek, which means for us to break forth, burst, render, tear, to give vent to joyful emotions.

So whatever we petition and pray for, whatever we request here on earth will be done in heaven and whatever joyful emotions we give vent to, whether we are excited or passionate about something, He says in Matthew 18:19 that if two of us on earth agree about anything we ask for, it will be done for us by our Father in heaven, because where two or three come together in His name, there He is with us. Which means that what we are agreeing upon and asking for is really done in His presence and therefore not outside of His will.

Well, that Easter morning when my husband went to wake up our twin daughter, He discovered that she had an open raw and bleeding sore on her belly button. He brought her to me in a panic, and I immediately laid hands on her and prayed for her, that God would heal her infection. Then I instructed my husband to take her to the emergency room while I called the Pastor. So he left with her and I called the Pastor and he and his wife got down on their knees right there on the phone with me and agreed with me in prayer for healing.

Less than an hour later, my husband called me from the emergency waiting room and said that he didn’t think that she needed to see the doctor because her wound was scabbing over as we spoke. In a mixture of excitement and puzzlement, I told him to still wait to see the doctor.

Later when my husband arrived home, not only had her wound completely scabbed over, but when the doctor examined her, he reported that the herniated belly button that she was born with and they were intending to operate on was completely healed. You can just imagine our humbleness before the Lord. He rewarded our act of trust with more healing than we had asked for and to His glory a bewildered physician witnessed the power of God!

Be looking for your Easter Miracle this season. May God grant you the desire of your heart and may your heart desire to be fully open to God, your creator.

Have a Blessed Easter
