12th Day
Teachers along with other professionals lead the march on Wall Street on Thursday in protest from the city's mayor proclamation to cut jobs and spending in education and teacher's layoffs. Groups in the protest met with Al Sharpton and UTF President Michael Mulgrew along with groups of city officals whom led in the march. The NYPD arrested some disturbers in the protest which included about 10,000 marchers. The march's main objective was in protest of doing away with the 4,000 teachers lay-off and the reinstating of the "Milliionaire's Tax" which create and target new job hires by allowing renegoiating contracts with big banks. The protest was mostly peaceful and Wall Street's lesson was having the teacher's rally for the saving of their present jobs and preventing the lay offs.
