On Jan 12, the U.S. Department of Education placed on public inspection a notice inviting applications (NIA) for the FY17 Charter Schools Program Grants for charter management organizations to help replicate and expand high-quality charter schools (CMO grant); the NIA was published in the Federal Register on January 13, 2017.
Applications to the CMO grant competition are due by 4:30 p.m. ET on Monday, Feb. 27, 2017 and must be submitted through Grants.gov. Applicants must register at Grants.gov prior to submitting an application. The registration process can take several weeks if all steps are not completed accurately or in a timely manner, so applicants should begin the registration process as soon as possible.
The Department will hold a pre-application webinar for prospective applicants on Tuesday, January, 24, 2017, from 1 – 2:30 p.m. ET. Prospective applicants must pre-register by emailing their name, organization, and contact information to CharterSchools@ed.gov, using the subject heading “CMO PRE-APPLICATION MEETING,” by 12:00 p.m. ET on Jan. 24.
