For Immediate Release!
***YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND FREE CONCERT PLATINUM JUBILEE WEEKEND!!**
One lady named Diana will be welcomed with opened arms into Buckingham Palace.
Diana Ross, who released a new song this week, will be among the artists performing for Queen Elizabeth’s supreme rule of England.
The legendary Motown diva is among the star-studded lineup for the concert celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
From June 2 to June 5, Her Majesty The Queen will celebrate being the first British Monarch to sit on the throne for 70 years.
Queen with Adam Lambert, Nile Rodgers, Andrea Bocelli, Alicia Keys, Craig David, Hans Zimmer, Mabel and Eurovision singer Sam Ryder are also confirmed for the Platinum Party at the Palace in front of Buckingham Palace.
Sir Elton John’s performance will reportedly be prerecorded for the event since he won’t be able to make it there due to European touring commitments.
“I am so excited to be returning to the UK after so long and I am honored to perform for Her Majesty The Queen once again,” Ross shared on social media with an archival clip of her previous performance before Her Royal Highness and Prince Phillip in 1991. “I cannot wait to meet and reconnect with all of my family, friends and fans there to share the love.”
The 78-year-old “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” singer is scheduled to close out the two-and-a-half hour show, in her first U.K. appearance in 15 years.
According to the BBC, the June 4 event is expected to be watched by 22,000 people live and will be broadcast on BBC One.
Meanwhile, Ross appears to be making another run for the charts with a new, catchy dance tune called “Turn Up the Sunshine,” featuring Tame Impala.
The Jack Antonoff-produced bop is the first single to be released from the soundtrack to “Minions: The Rise of Gru,” which will feature covers of 1970s funk, pop, and soul hits produced and curated by the Bleachers frontman.
For the new song featuring Earth, Wind & Fire co-founder Verdine White on bass, Antonoff (the 2022 Grammy winner for non-classical producer of the year) wrote with Sam Dew, Patrik Berger and Kevin Parker.
Released through Decca on July 1, the 19-track opus is set to feature artists like Oscar and Grammy Award winner H.E.R., Alabama Shakes’ powerhouse Brittany Howard, Phoebe Bridgers, Thundercat, St. Vincent, Caroline Polachek, Brockhampton, Kali Uchis, Tierra Whack, and Weyes Blood.
